Anke is a well known and respected captain who runs an inter-island passenger ferry and also freelances on (mega) yachts.
Her mom Veerle owns Maritime
Services and Training and the Maritime School of the West Indies
in Marigot where the STCW'95 course, Master of Yachts 200 Ton
and others are taught and this is what inspired the idea behind
LIFE RAFTS ETC.
The Maritime School of the West Indies uses a life raft at least once a month to do the sea survival module and it was always very expensive and complicated to send those rafts off island every time because the service could not be provided locally.
To make a long story short; after doing some research, Anke flew to France and other countries where she did the required training to become an official life raft service technician for several brands like Plastimo, Zodiac, Bombard, Etc.
